Payroll Lead – Dutch Speaking – Fully Remote – 6 Month Contract – €85 per hour

About the Role
We’re looking for a Dutch-speaking Payroll Lead to manage and support end-to-end payroll operations and data management in a fast-paced, global environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, compliance with Dutch regulations, and timely service delivery, while also mentoring junior team members and collaborating with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll independently according to agreed calendars and KPIs.
  • Respond to employee and client payroll queries within SLA timelines.
  • Support managers with client-facing tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information.
  • Provide guidance and support during payroll implementations and go-lives.
  • Deliver daily functional support to teams and take ownership of payroll sign-offs.
  • Mentor and support Apprentices/Associates on payroll, data management, or customer service activities.
  • Perform system maintenance testing and ensure process readiness post-changes.
  • Collaborate with third-party providers for payroll inputs/outputs and issue resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation (DWIs) and complete SOC controls with full evidence.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in payroll, benefits, or HR administration in a corporate or consulting environment.
  • Fluent in Dutch, with strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Background in HR, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with HRIS systems like SAP, Workday, or PeopleSoft (SAP preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Dutch payroll legislation, tax compliance, and third-party integrations.
  • Ability to identify risks, suggest improvements, and follow structured processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
