Senior Desktop Support Engineer / Team Lead – 3 Month Contract – £250 Per Day

Overview:

An opportunity has arisen for a senior Desktop Engineer to work with one of the worlds leading contemporary art galleries in the heart of the City. This role overseas the front line support for all users across the company as well as managing a small team.

Role and Responsibilities:
·Day to day management of the Service desk with responsibility for suggesting and implementing changes
·Line Management of IT System Analysts
·Provide exceptional customer service in person, via phone and email as appropriate
·Resolve help desk issues including troubleshooting hardware and software
·Restore data from backups as required
·Create, change, and delete user accounts per request; manage the process for joiners and leavers in relation to user accounts
·Maintenance tasks for equipment (PCs, printers, monitors, etc.) at all London sites
·Organise for IT related hardware to be transported to various sites via courier as required
·Liaise with and organise with vendor support when needed to facilitate resolution of incidents with external engineers, either onsite or on remote sites.
·Installation of computers, printers and various other IT related equipment around the sites
·Monitor anti-virus system and ensure updates are applied to all computers.

Essential skills:
·Experience Dealing with and troubleshooting email (Outlook/Thunderbird) and web browser (Firefox) related issues both face to face and over the phone via remote control (RDP, Teamviewer, VNC)
·Experience implementing software packages and updates using WPKG and WSUS
·Experience configuring new desktop and laptop machines to company specifications (Mac and Windows)

Desirable skills:
·Software support: MS Office, Inventory (in house db), Photoshop, Windows 10
·Setup and troubleshoot for mobile devices (iPhones or iPads) & Laptops using DEP and JAMF.
·Video Conferencing system: set up as required for meetings and providing training and user support
·Competent with command line including powershell/linux/cmd to allow troubleshooting and administration.
·Configure and troubleshoot wireless routers, wireless access points and wireless devices as well as installation.
·Understanding and experience of CISCO network switches and VLANs
·Edit and maintain AD/LDAP directory
