Public Health Intelligence Specialist

A market-leading organisation is currently seeking a Public Health Intelligence Specialist on a 3/6 month contract working 2 – 3 day per week. As part of the Public Health team, the chosen candidate will be the lead analyst for all COVID 19 data including positive cases, deaths, test and trace and exceedance, development and management of the direction of public health information to reflect local, regional and national priorities.

Opportunity:
• Lead analyst for all COVID 19 data including positive cases, deaths, test and trace and exceedance.
• Created daily/weekly reporting tools in order to inform and advise according to the outbreak management protocol
• Designed and managed multiple dashboards using Power BI and Excel for dissemination of timely data such as 7-day rates of infection and local trends to Director of PH, senior colleagues and stakeholders.
• In depth analysis of inequalities in infections and COVID-related deaths using modelling by ethnicity, age, gender and occupation (key workers).
• Developed a needs assessment on the impact of Covid-19 on the community including data on comorbidities, mental health, substance misuse and main points from PHE’s disparities review.

Additionally they will be required to lead on the following:
• Use a range of datasets including national, regional, local authority, NHS and other sources to support the development and production of major reports, e.g. Public Health Annual Report, JSNA, HNAs, Bulletins and Profiles.
• To be responsible for undertaking surveys, statistical analyses, and dissemination of findings to communicate complex information to specialists and non-specialists.

Key Skills:
• Knowledge of current public health policy
• Fluent in electronically accessing and using complex health related data
• Experience of undertaking data analysis (POWER BI, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Tableau)
• Extensive working knowledge of MS Office in particular Microsoft Excel and Word

Rate – £300 – (circa) – Inside IR 35 – immediate start – 3/6 months rolling contract.
