Project Manager (Property/Construction)

Rate Inside IR 35 – £500 – per day on a 6 month rolling contract / 35-hour week 9am – 5pm.

A leading organisation based in the heart of St Albans City is currently hiring a project manager who has strong in property ideally within a government or public sector organisation. This contract opportunity is guaranteed to last at least 6 months with opportunities to work from home.

The chosen Project Manager will deliver a programme of major capital property projects within the agreed budget and timetable, ensuring value and meeting the aspirations of the Council. This role will give the Project Manager a chance to build, develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues to ensure that projects are delivered to a high standard.

The Role:
• To ensure that all specifications, contracts and designs meet Council’s legal, regulatory and H&S requirements.
• To deliver a range of building surveys including managing asbestos (where present) and carry out works in accordance with safe asbestos working standards.
• To project manage a range of technically complex development and refurbishment major capital property projects.
• To be responsible for budgetary management that ensures maximum value from the development.
• Understand and monitor legislation and legal/contractual documentation to ensure compliance by the Council and/ or its tenants/grantees.
• Work in an agile manner (working from home 1 day per week and hot- desking in an open-plan office).
• Attend site visits in inclement weather.

Essential Experience:
• Construction or property related degree
• MRICS qualified or project management qualification and/or significant project management experience (of at least 3 years)
• Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and best practice relating to construction works
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations (2015)
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• Knowledge of advanced project management systems and tools
• Demonstrable evidence of leading multi-disciplinary teams delivering major capital property projects
• Current and valid driving licence

Rate Inside IR 35 – £500 – per day on a 6 month rolling contract / 35-hour week 9am – 5pm.
