Payroll & Pensions Control Manager – East Hoathly – £40,000 – £50,000 – Basic Salary + Excellent Benefits

Overview:
Our client is a non-profit leisure trust who manages leisure and cultural facilities on behalf of partners across the UK.

Role & Responsibilities:
·Principally responsible for the processing, checking and balancing accurate and compliant monthly payroll (approx. 5000 employees/workers) including authorising and processing interim payments or advances as appropriate.
·Plan and deliver short, medium and long-term system development and implementation as necessary. Be the lead for all HR/Payroll system maintenance, functionality and development.
·Writing, producing and distributing all reports required by the organisation, pension providers, HMRC, etc. and submitting RTI returns monthly. This includes financial and management information, KPIs and statistics as required
·Proactive and continuous reviews of systems, processes, procedures and policies related to the payroll, pension and HR administration in liaison with the HR Director and HR management team
·Working in liaison with HR Management Team to achieve the department aims and objectives and contribute to the vision, aims and objectives of the department and being a strong change agent
·Provide training and support to sites, which will involve travel by car to any of the sites
·Keep fully up to date with all current legislation and HMRC guidelines and inform other members of the team as necessary

Essential Skills & Experience:
·CIPP / Formal Payroll Qualification at Management Level or equivalent qualification / experience
·Experience of running large payrolls on integrated HR/Payroll systems
·Experience of administering pension schemes, including LGPS
·System development and implementation
·Expert level in use of payroll/HR systems, development and use of Microsoft Excel
·Knowledge of pension legislation and LGPS scheme regulations
