Lead IT Commercial / Contracts Manager

A highly reputable financial organisation is currently searching for a Lead IT Commercial / Contracts Manager to help support our client’s technology estate with the management of commercial engagement and ongoing relationships with our client’s suppliers. The role-holder is responsible for planning and managing the contract lifecycle for BAU and change whilst managing the pipeline of group IT commercial activity with team in IT commercial and finance team.

The Lead IT Commercial / Contracts Manager will be expected to deliver best practice in the management of suppliers in adherence with our client’s policies that is driven by external regulatory requirements from a range of sources including the FCA, PRA and EBA who set out the standards for the financial services industry. Working closely with colleagues in IT, Legal and Vendor Management.

Job responsibilities:
• Management of small team including 2 IT Commercial Managers (UK) and an IT commercial co-ordinator (India)Drive forward the planning and tracking of Commercial activity within IT providing a reporting view for senior managers
• Lead on procurement for assigned strategic contracts
• Negotiation and renegotiation of contracts with vendors ensuring appropriate commercial confidence in the supplier offering and sufficient information to allow for successful project delivery, service introduction, service delivery and architecture teams to make informed decisions on compatibility and viability of solutions
• Own the relationships with a of number of the core third party IT application and infrastructure vendors in line with FCA, PRA and our clients Policy and guidelines
• Support Relationship Owners within IT to meet their obligations under the relevant Vendor Management Policies and Processes
• Work to fully roll out and apply continuous improvement to practices and processes across the group.

Key skills:
• Equivalent to 5 years or more of IT and supplier contracts (Requirements, Procurement, and Contract Management) and business/industry experience
• Equivalent to 5 years or more of IT (Experience in Applications, Databases, Networks, Infrastructure design and development) and business/industry experience
• Detailed knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Any experience of Agile or Waterfall methodologies would be highly advantageous
• Equivalent to 2 years or more demonstrated experience in managing “upward” among senior leadership in at least 2 different companies reporting to executive level
• Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units. Familiar with industry trends and innovation

Salary: £55,000 to £75,000
