IT Release Manager

Opportunity:
A leading FTSE-250 financial organisation is currently hiring an IT Release Manager who a strong understanding of release / change management principles within IT and Business projects. This is fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that is embarking on a large scale transformation project and requires a release management professional to work independently and communicate to a range of business and IT stakeholders at all levels including a technical and non-technical audience is desirable

The Release Management function aims to plan, schedule and control the deployment of releases to test and live environment by governing the Change Control and Release Procedure across all business areas and monitoring compliance against the agreed ways of working and regulatory standards

Key Responsibilities:
• Planning and overseeing successful implementation of hardware and software
• Managing a release database tool to manage release records
• Agreeing contents of a release, the plan to implement/rollback and release using Change and Release Management Processes
• Maintaining and distributing a release schedule
• Maintaining records and controlling environment usage to support release and change management activities
• Release Management reporting to key stakeholders based on agreed release management process
• Support preparation and input of change/release information into the Release Advisory Board (Board which provides review and approval of releases to the live environment)
• Provide support in collating and reviewing the artefacts required for every release
• Provide administration support including arranging meetings, minute taking, documentation, resource request for release, change request closure, record keeping and audit support

Core experience for this position:
• Previous experience working in previous release management role is essential
• Previous project management experience is essential
• A detailed knowledge of change and release management principles and the processes required for supporting them
• A detailed knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SLDC)
• Intermediate level Service Now or similar tool for change management
• ITIL
• Change Management , Incident Management and Service Transition

Rewards Package:
•£40,000 – £55,000
