IT Business Partner

A highly reputable financial services corporation is currently recruiting an IT Business Partner who has previous lending experience to serve as the voice of IT’ with a number of business functions across our client. The ideal candidate will have experience working within IT and alongside Business Stakeholders across a multi-site IT function with over 200 members.

The role will require a detailed understanding of mortgage / lending products and at least 3 years previous experience of working in IT project delivery / project management (e.g. delivering IT initiatives for Business enablement) within a financial services organisation. The role will further develop its relationship with the Business and focus on helping IT continue to be viewed as a proactive, forward-thinking function and a partner in any developments being undertaken.

Core responsibilities:
• Developing an excellent working relationship with the Business
• Have early visibility of emerging Business requests for IT (both project and service related)
• Be better placed to understand and communicate the Business rationale behind requests (for e.g. market challenges, customer priorities, competitive issues)
• Gain early buy in from IT to Business-led projects (and vice versa)
• Provide feedback to the Business on requirements IT have from the business to progress projects
• Championing of improvements IT are making, including information on initiatives delivered by Business function
• Provide updates on key projects where required outside of the formal project governance processes
• Developing an excellent working relationship with the IT teams responsible for delivering initiatives and BAU services to the Business. Understanding and being able to communicate any existing or future challenges (i.e. risks, issues, delays)

Key skill set:
• 5 years previous experience of working with IT and Business stakeholders across a multi-site IT function with over 200 members is essential. Experience will include the development of strong, long-term relationships across multiple stakeholders with differing objectives
• 5 years previous experience of working in IT project delivery / project management (e.g. delivering IT initiatives for Business enablement) within a FTSE 250 financial services organisation or equivalent is essential
• Detailed knowledge of mortgages products, technology (e.g. DPR, Phoebus) and operations
• Detailed knowledge of MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Word is essential
• Advanced skills in respect of Business and IT stakeholder management are essential
• Advanced skills in respect of planning, organising and prioritising workloads across multiple stakeholders are essential

• Salary £44,000 – £55,000
