EUC Architect – Up to £70,000 – Financial Services – London
Overview:
A global British FTSE250 financial services company with over 60 locations worldwide are seeking an experienced End User Computing (EUC) Architect to join their London-based IT Architecture team. This pivotal role focuses on designing and managing the architecture for end-user services, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and fostering continuous improvement in user experience and operational efficiency.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and implement the strategic roadmap for end-user computing services, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Platform Design: Develop and enhance EUC platforms, including Windows (desktop), VMware Horizon, Intune, and mobile devices, with a focus on scalability and operational soundness.
- Governance: Oversee application lifecycle management, patching, and updates across all devices, ensuring compliance with IT standards and policies.
- Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the Security team to enforce security best practices and compliance requirements, mitigating risks.
- Standard Definition: Establish hardware and software standards tailored to user needs while maintaining alignment with IT strategies.
- Innovation and Roadmaps: Monitor industry trends, propose strategic improvements, and develop roadmaps for future EUC initiatives.
- Support and Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support for business counterparts and operational teams to resolve complex EUC issues.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Operating Systems: Advanced knowledge of Windows and macOS deployment, configuration, and management.
- Virtualisation: Hands-on experience with VMware, Citrix, and Hyper-V technologies.
- Cloud Services: Proficiency with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based desktop solutions.
- Scripting and Automation: Strong PowerShell or Python scripting skills for process automation.
- Endpoint Management: Expertise with Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and JAMF for Mac device management.
- Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with end-user experience monitoring tools like Uber and integration with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk).
- Security: In-depth knowledge of endpoint protection, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Networking: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall configurations.
- Software Deployment: Strong experience with software deployment tools, especially Microsoft Intune.
