Senior DevOps Engineer / AWS – £100K + Excellent Bonus & Benefits –Hybrid
Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen with one of our clients, a rapidly growing, data led Saas organisation who have an impressive portfolio of clients. We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps engineer to assist the organisation in taking their infrastructure to the next level with a strong focus around architecture at early stages.
This is an exciting time to join the organisation and the successful candidate will play an integral part of the successful growth of the engineering and infrastructure functions.
A strong infrastructure background is essential for this position, we are seeking a senior, hands on engineer to work closely with the CTO to design, monitor and upgrade the existing system.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Deployment, automation, management and maintenance of cloud-based systems
- Ensuring availability, performance, security and scalability
- Management of creation, release and configuration of systems
- System troubleshooting and problem resolution across application domains and platforms
- Ensuring system security is best in class
- Working with developers on current and new functionality to ensure best use of AWS services
- Provisioning single tenant versions of the infrastructure and helping spec custom integrations
- Implementing best practices to make the organisation a more streamlined SaaS company
- Advocating for changes in current architecture to maximise performance, availability and cost savings
- Some out-of-hours support will be needed
Essential Skills and Experience:
- DevOps; CI, CD, GitHub, Terraform, and Terraform Cloud
- Strong AWS experience and knowledge with Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, RDS, ECS Fargate, AWS Organisations, IAM, KMS, preferably with certification in these areas.
- A good knowledge of AWS best practices around multi-account / multi-region setups and experience in SaaS based products
- Docker
- Good networking and security understanding
- Coding experience (ideally Clojure or JS) with an interest in functional languages
- Production support
Package:
- £80K – £100K basic
- Generous annual bonus (20% – £35%)
- Hybrid working – Ideally once per week in London, but flexibility around this
