Data Engineer – £90K + Package
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Data Engineer to join a global brand based in Slough. The role will focus on SQL and AWS and offers work from home options. Having recruited for this company for many years this role comes highly reccommended.
Role of the Data Engineer:
·Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS technologies that is in line with Enterprise Architecture standards
·Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
·Adhere to defined ETL standards including coding, testing, and methodology
·Perform/ensure quality assurance by reviewing testing results and performing code reviews as needed
·Work with stakeholders and assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
·Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
·Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader
·Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
Requirements of the Data Engineer:
·The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8+ years of experience administering and developing relational databases, preferably in large, corporate database environments.
·Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
·Experience working in an Analytics-heavy Business Intelligence environment (SAS, Tableau, Microsoft, etc.)
·Data Integration experience, including ability to design, document, develop and test data integration processes from analyst specifications
·Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
·Is a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
·Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
·Is detail-oriented and quality-focused
·Has Expertise in database development, design and support
·Experience with PostgreSQL a plus
