Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Andover

Reporting into the Head of Infrastructure, the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role will work as part of a team who manage and maintain current on premise Infrastructure and contribute to an aggressive change program to move to a consolidated hybrid cloud infrastructure.

Role of the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
·IT Infrastructure support for the business
·Detailed understanding of Microsoft Azure. Linux and/or Windows System administration and filesystem concepts
·Delivery of Cloud infrastructure strategies aligned with business objectives
·Provide advanced systems and intermediate network support as requested as part of troubleshooting analysis
·Provide technical expertise with infrastructure migration methodologies
·Mentor existing staff on cloud computing best practices and technology
·Support on-premises hosted infrastructure with activities related to capacity planning, maintaining, and sustainment
·Contribution and support to the design and implementation of a cloud security services strategy for monitoring the IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions in Azure and other cloud services where necessary
·Work with the application team, infrastructure project managers, etc. to produce solution designs for new implementations.
·Deliver the implementation of new solutions in line with the Systems and Infrastructure Strategy
·Automation of regular tasks and providing self service capabilities to end users where appropriate

Requirements of the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
·Infrastructure as code, scripting and automation
·Knowledge of Azure Compute, Storage and Networking
·Working within a hybrid Infrastructure environment
·Supporting over 1500 users across multiple sites
·Ability to demonstrate best practice for cloud technology transformation
·Influencing and mentoring colleagues on new technologies and automation
·LAN/WAN technologies
·Windows and/or Linux system administration
·Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
·Design and deliver secure cloud solutions
·Strong background in various technologies including Linux and Microsoft
·Experience with network devices and boundary protections (Ex: Cisco Switching, Firewalls)
·Networking experience and an understanding of network protocols, DNS, VPN, and load balancing.
·Scripting experience (Ansible, Terraform, Shell Scripting and PowerShell knowledge preferable)
·Support capacity planning and cost assessment reports based on expected usage
·Applied systems engineering experience working with design principles and Windows server applications
·Installing, configuring, and hardening systems (Windows 2012, 2016, OEL 7.4)
·Familiarity with Virtualization (Hyper-V and VMware)
·Ability to document in depth information regarding system security baselines, configurations, deviations, and justifications for security recommendations
