1st/2nd Line Support Engineer – Global brand – Oxford – Hybrid – 6 month contract – Inside IR35
 
Rate: £200-225pd inside IR35
Inside IR35 – 6 months contract  
Oxford – Hybrid (4 days onsite)
 
Overview:
We are currently seeking a proactive and customer-focused 1st / 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a globally recognised brand. This role will provide hands-on IT support to users across the business, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and services. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Microsoft Windows environments, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality technical support.
 
Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to end users via phone, email, and in person
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows 10/11 operating systems and associated applications
  • Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory, Office 365, and other enterprise systems
  • Troubleshoot and support Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Set up and support desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Escalate complex technical issues to the 3rd line support or relevant teams when necessary
  • Maintain accurate documentation of technical processes, solutions, and user requests
  • Assist with IT projects, rollouts, and upgrades as required

 
Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a 1st / 2nd line IT support role
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11)
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and Active Directory
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
